Cyclefit Training

Strength. Endurance. Speed!

NCCH offers off season (October through to March) training programs using our Ancaster studio, as well as a remote virtual training option (see below). In addition to our current Adult, Youth Recreational and Competitive off season training programs we are introducing two **NEW** off season programs this year!!
Cyclefit Training for Sports Teams
This program allows the sport team to optimize their limited and valuable ice, court or field time on skills development while developing strength, endurance and speed in NCCH's studio.

NCCH will work with the team’s coach to:
  • Tailor training to meet team goals.
  • Set and track personal athlete performance goals (Baseline and ongoing Testing, Time Trial times etc).
  • Develop training schedules to complement the athletes’  primary sport training schedules.
For inquiries please contact the NCCH Recruitment Director at recruitmentdirector@ncch.ca.
Cyclefit Training for Schools
Schools can bring their classes to NCCH's indoor studio for a Cyclefit session or series of sessions. Alternatively NCCH, as part of our community outreach, bring a Cyclefit Set Up (up to 4 stations) to your school (FREE Program) for the day to allow your students an opportunity to  experience what it's like to train with us using our CompuTrainer stations (real bikes attached to stationary power resistors with interactive computerized screens and simulated cycling courses). We can even run a fun mini race challenge amongst your students!

For inquiries please contact the NCCH Recruitment Director at recruitmentdirector@ncch.ca
NCCH's virtual Cyclefit program allows you to participate in our group training in the comfort of your own home!
  • This is how it works:
    • NCCH rents you an Elite TUO Smart Trainer and MBX bike (if you require one). All you need to provide is a compatible device/s to run the Zwift app!
  • This is what you need to participate:
    • iPhone, iPad, Mac or PC computer, or an Apple TV.
    • Any type of bike (will require a smooth slick to be put on rear tire).
    • If you have a Classic Stationary Trainer at home and would like to use it you will also require a speed sensor installed on your bike that can communicate via ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart. If you’re using a PC, you’ll need an ANT+ dongle. Click here for a good explanation on the difference between a smart trainer and a classic trainer.
Click here to watch a quick overview of Zwift and what it has to offer.
*How does a Smart Trainer work: The smart trainer has a load generator that applies resistance to the rear wheel of your bike simulating the terrain of real pre-programmed courses that the rider sees on a computer or TV screen. As you ride your bike, the smart trainer will put more or less resistance on the back tire of your bike, as though you are pedaling either uphill or downhill.  The pre-programmed courses are provided through apps such as Racermate and Zwift.  While you ride you can see your avatar and other cyclists cycling the course and you can even draft behind other cyclists! The coach can upload specific training plans to meet your goals and you can track your key performance metrics such as your time, speed, power, and distance and how you did relative to the training plan. Your progress is tracked over time. Unlike a spin class, you are using a real bike – either your own, or you can rent one of ours!
