On June 5, 2022, the KW Cycling Academy hosted the Dirty Nein mountain bike race at Bechtel Park in Waterloo, ON. The day started with a short track race, followed by a downhill event and ended with the cross country race.
The day started off in an epic battle between KW and NCCH in the Grade B short track race. This race featured 11 Athletes, 6 from NCCH and 5 from KW. The race saw some fierce competition but NCCH owned the podium with Jaxson V. first, Sam M. second and Chayse R. in third. In the Grade C short track race, NCCH riders had another amazing race with Jacob K., second and Ben G. third. In the Grade D race Charlie S. faced off against 6 KW riders. Charlie held his own and landed on his first ever podium taking second place. After their strong showing in the short track race, Jaxson V. and Sam M. moved up to Grade A for the cross-country race and continued their great day with Jaxson taking third and Sam coming in fourth. In the Grade B race NCCH had three athletes in the top four with Chayse R. second, Jacob K. third and Kyle M. fourth. It was a great day for the NCCH Athletes with several riders competing in criterium style racing for the first time and setting personal bests on the course.
