![]() Rusty Fisher is undertaking a huge adventure in order to raise money for Palliative Care. He has a goal of riding his bike all the way from Victoria BC to Peterborough ON. You may wonder why he has such big plans, why would he take on such a task? The answer is that his father was being taken care of by Palliative Care at the Peterborough Hospital for 5 months before passing away earlier this year. Their love and compassion towards his family is what inspired Rusty to raise money in order to give back and let them keep doing what they do. Rusty enjoys cycling, so choosing to cycle across the country and finish at the hospital that took such great care of his dad and family during such a difficult time felt right to him. He understands that at some point we will all need healthcare and that the more support we give the service, the better service we will get when the time comes. He plans on starting this adventure on June 1st, 2021. The ride will mostly be gravel roads/trails and he says he knows his dad will be with him on this journey as he plans on taking his locket of hair with him. Please show your support by sharing this post and if you can, donating over on his GoFundMe page.
