Ben has always had lofty ambitions of biking riding to Oshawa (142km) all summer. On September 4, 2021 Ben and his Dad attempted their journey leaving around 8:30am (from Stoney Creek). Last summer they tackled Scarborough (92km 8hrs, 6hrs riding time) earlier and Ben said he could keep going!
The end result was Ajax! Shockingly Ben could have kept going, so his goal was in reached but they lost the battle with daylight. Ben felt great that day and showed no signs of soreness from the journey. He was so excited at the Pickering sign knowing he arrived at a new destination. His other highlight was hitting 40km/h on a down hill segment in Scarborough. Ben is looking forward to riding with NCCH’s Fall Explorer Program (next stage of Rider Development-LTAD) as it will present a great challenge for him!
