The second MTB TT day was cool, crisp and fast. Some new PB times were set across all three waves and the lap time data will be very valuable in assessing riders and planning for winter training. And, it was fun and positive for everyone's health - physical and mental - to be outside and amping up the heart rate.
Thanks for giving your all and at the same time being kind and respectful to hikers and walkers. Many people on the trails commented positively about NCCH members and the benefits of being on the trails with organized events for youth. We came, saw and rode the Valley on a beautiful Sunday morning. More than 35 riders challenged the technical MTB TT course, with a mix of trail and single track and more than a fair share of bumps & stumps. Thank you to our volunteer coaches who marshalled around the 2.9k loop and thanks to our riders who represented NCCH in a positive community manner with all the hikers, runners and dog walkers. NCCH Manager Rick Lee said "Our MTB coaches came up with the course, as they wanted a course that would challenge the riders technical skills, as well as speed and endurance. We reached out to OfCourse Promotions who ran the successful Gravel T series, to conduct the Valley TT, and it went like clock work ! We achieved our objectives by providing a safe, fun, and 'race' type environment, for athletes to post times on a technical course. These times, as well as the Gravel T are a 'base line', and will form part of the assessment for the different competition levels (A, B or C) going forward" Back at it this Sunday October 25 for another push for personal best times.
